Save call recordings, video messages, surrounding chat threads and the payment instructions that followed. Note the channel used to deliver the deepfake and any caller ID spoofing.
Verify unusual payment requests through a known-good contact method established in advance. After a loss, that verification failure becomes part of the factual narrative for banks.
Technical analysis of synthetic media may later support proceedings. Immediate priorities remain payment recalls, account security and a clean chronology for counsel.
